Kalmar

november 28th, 2008

Jo, vi besökte bl.a. Grattis i förskott!

A few things to keep in mind…

oktober 13th, 2008

I’ve never been a big fan of chain letters, but even I’ll make an exception now and then and sometimes get happily surprised by the message. This is a list I think we should keep in mind and remember every day… It goes out to all of my friends.

Always try to help a friend in need

Believe in yourself

Be brave…but it’s ok to be afraid sometimes

Study hard

Give lots of kisses

Laugh often

Don’t be overly concerned with your weight, it’s just a number

Always try to see the glass half full

Meet new people, even if they look different to you

Remain calm, even when it seems hopeless

Take lots of naps..

Be weird whenever you have the chance

Love your friends, no matter who they are

Don’t waste food

RELAX

Take an occasional risk

Try to have a little fun each day.

…it’s important

Work together as a team

Share a joke with friends

Fall in love with someone..

…and say ‘I love you’ often

Express yourself creatively

Be conscious of your appearance

Always be up for surprises

Love someone with all of your heart

Share with friends

Watch your step

It will get better

There is always someone who loves you more than you know

Exercise to keep fit

Live up to your name

Seize the Moment

Hold on to good friends; they are few and far between

Indulge in the things you truly love

Cherish every Sunday

At the end of the day… PRAY

……. and close your eyes
And smile at least once a day!

 Love, Jen

I haven’t felt like writing much lately. It’s been extremely tough on all of my family but we’re doing better, at least most days. I keep thinking about what my friend Donna told me ”I don’t intend making up my mind. I intend dealing with one day at a time till it does not hurt so much”, and that’s exactly how I feel. You never know what will happen. But what I do know is that I’m going to do my very best in supporting my granny in the time she needs me the most. Thanks to all of you who have shown your support in this difficult time. I’ve enjoyed your phone calls, text messages and letters. I haven’t felt like hanging out, but it’s going to change very soon, I promise. So thank you again for caring about me, as I care about you! I love you.

Things change so quickly

september 14th, 2008

Things are not exactly terrific at the moment. In fact, they are not even close. My grandmother had a stroke a couple of days ago. She is now in the hospital and we went to see her today. To be honest, things could have been a lot worse than they are. She is able to talk, if not with the same energy, and she is able to walk if somebody helps her to get up and use a walker. But still, it was so painful for me to see her struggling with the simplest things; like reaching for a glass of water. Also, her body hurts in several places and it was extremely hard to see somebody you care so much about in such pain.

I haven’t done much but crying and worrying since it happened. We were together the day before the stroke. We walked the dog together, had coffee and talked. My grandmother is not only a ”grandmother” to me. She is also my godmother and one of my dearest friends ever to walk on this earth. She lives very close to my parents house and she has always been there for me. She has been there when I have not had anyone else to talk to. She has always been caring and creative. Even to this day she is a very good role model for me. She never gives up. We may not always think alike, but we do a lot of things in similar ways. When I was younger barely a single day went by that I didn’t see her. When my mother started working, my grandmother took care of me. After I started school I always came to her in the afternoons and she helped me do my homework and made me different snacks or dinner until my mom called and said that she was home. Even when I lived in the states we spoke on the phone a couple of times a week and sent many letters back and forth. I am lucky to have had such a wonderful grandmother play such a significant part of my life. Please don’t take her away from me. I still need her. And I hope she needs me.

Thank you for loving me

Je

You know I can’t smile without you
I can’t smile without you
I can’t laugh
And I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard
To do anything

You see I feel sad when you’re sad
I feel glad when you’re glad
If you only knew
What I’m going through
I just can’t smile without you

My vivid imagination

september 9th, 2008

I have always loved to dress up - simply because of how fun it is to play and use your imagination to put on ”shows”! During the years I have been a cat in the cutest little pink apron, a queen, a clown, Santa’s wife, a rockstar, a teacher and many more characters…

Yesterday, my fantastic friend, Erik, found some pictures from our childhood and luckily shared them with me. Now I thought I would share a picture with you.

I guess I’m four or five on this one. I cut my yellow paper face-mask myself (as you might see) and later decorated it with lots of colorful glitter.

Another day

Thank you to everyone who thought about me on my Birthday! It’s always so good to hear from you. I had a nice day with family and friends. I got a beautiful bouqet of ten bright red roses from a friend and Erik invited me for tea and had bought me an awesome (raspberry flavored) piece of cake from the local bakery ! What a lovely surprise : )

My parents gave me what I like the most – a bunch of cd’s and dvd’s. So I think that will keep me entertained for a while…

This morning my grandmother along with another lady from our community had to go to the hospital for a class so I was their driver. I didn’t really mind, because it gave me the chance to get up early and get more out of the day - which happened to be perfect, since I was able to meet with some friends while I waited for the ladies to be done with class and pick them up.
